We aim to organise the 15th IEA Heat Pump Conference 2026 in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Eco Label for Green Meetings.
You too can help make the conference more sustainable, and we would be delighted if you could take the following points into consideration:
- Plan your journey by train and public transport and avoid traveling by car. Vienna is very easy to reach by public transport, and the Hofburg Vienna is centrally located in the heart of Vienna. You can find more information on traveling by public transport here.
- Avoid waste as much as possible—all information about the conference is also available in the congress app!
- Please dispose of unavoidable waste in the appropriate recycling bins!
Measures
Among other things, the following measures were implemented:
- No conference bags
- Conference venue and all recommended hotels are accessible on foot or by public transport
- Name badges without plastic sleeves
- Printed materials on recycled paper or chlorine-free bleached paper
- Only printing a small “pocket programme” instead of a full programme book to avoid wastage
- Catering meets sustainability criteria such as regional sourcing and seasonality
- Vegetarian or vegan alternatives for every meal containing meat
- Free drinking water stations with tap water available throughout the entire conference
- Only reusable tableware will be used
- Preference given to hotels with environmental certifications
Contracts with industry partners to ensure the industrial exhibition follows environmental guidelines.
