Decarbonisation through Innovation
From 26–29 May 2026, Vienna welcomed the global heat pump community for the 15th IEA Heat Pump Conference (HPC 2026). Under the motto “Decarbonisation through Innovation”, more than 800 experts from academia, industry, policy, and finance gathered to exchange knowledge, present cutting-edge research, and discuss the future of heat pump technologies.
Hosted by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in cooperation with the IEA Technology Collaboration Programme on Heat Pumping Technologies (HPT TCP), the conference featured 367 scientific and applied research contributions, 6 technical site visits, 10 workshops, and 3 policy forums, highlighting the crucial role of heat pumps in achieving global climate and energy goals.
We thank all participants, authors, reviewers, sponsors, exhibitors, and committee members who contributed to making HPC 2026 a great success. Together, we have strengthened international collaboration and advanced the transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon future.
We look forward to continuing this journey at the 16th IEA Heat Pump Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2029.
